Everyone in Seattle knows that the summer of 2015 has been one for the books. Restaurants opened, Seafair was celebrated, parades were paraded and it seemed like there was a party around every corner. Before we kick off our heels and pull our boots out of storage, we want to pay homage to the history-changing and heat-waving weeks that made up a true Seattle summer. We’re paying our respects in the best way we know how – in style – and with a stiff drink.
Last Monday we had the opportunity to join Bombay Sapphire Gin at Hotel 1000 for the 2015’s Most Imaginative Bartender sponsored by GQ Magazine. Mixologists from around Seattle gathered to individually showcase their signature drinks. The concoctions were incredible diverse, from a gin and soda with caviar to another drink topped with whipped cream, there was no shortage of imagination in the room. The rooftop terrace was the perfect venue for the event that was complete with passed appetizers and an ice sculpture. Naka’s Head Bartender Nik Virrey took home the coveted prize at the end of the evening. He will go on to compete in the national level of competition in Las Vegas.
Congratulations Nik and all the bartenders who participated, way to represent our city!
